András Markós was born in 1950, in Miercurea Ciuc, Harghita County, Romania. His passion for the arts led him to study at the Academy of Visual Arts "Loan Andreescu" known today as the Art and Design University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He received rigorous training in traditional and modern artistic techniques. Markós' strong foundation in fine arts, would later influence his work as he transitioned to working as a graphic designer and eventually focused on curating medieval church art at the Komitatsmuseum in Csíkszereda and designing sets for the Hungarian State Theatre.
By 1981, András had established himself as an internationally renowned artist, with exhibitions throughout Europe and eventually in America. His work as an artist, curator, and set designer contributed to his growing reputation in the art world. András Markós passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and artistic achievement.
